5th and I Street, NW Neighborhood Parks
Washington, DC |
|
WMC-LA provided conceptual landscape architecture design services for two parks located in the Mount Vernon Triangle District of NW Washington
DC. The park concept would feature a mixture of interactive and passive spaces that engage the users of the new mixed-use building and the neighborhood community as a whole. The intent of Milian Park, located directly adjacent to the proposed building redevelopment, is to provide a place of gathering using a combination of lawn seating and site furnishings. The proposed design includes many items of interest, including one interactive sculpture. Large expanses of mounded lawn and seating options provide gathering spaces. Seaton Park also features an amphitheater-style interactive play area with lighted play spray fountains and interactive LED lighted resin panels. |
