601 Massachusetts Avenue is a newly designed 450,000 sq ft building that will primarily contain office space and retail space. The new facility will be located on a triangular site previously occupied by the National Public Radio headquarters which will be demolished.
Great coordination with the architects also occurs to ensure that the main entry of the new development will work in concert with the interior space resulting in public and private spaces combining to create a grand entrance bisected by a glass wall.
The extra wide street frontage allowed for an interesting public space. This space will include large planting areas, as well as seating and café spaces. The
facility will also boast an extensive green roof.
