WMC-LA completed full landscape services a multi family residential complex, including streetscape design, courtyard design and overall site analysis. Staff provided several low impact development elements, including permeable paving within the parking lot, bioretention areas across the entire site, native plantings and an extensive greenroof covering the full extent of the roof. WMCLA worked with the design team to use the variety of low impact development elements to satisfy Washington DC’s Green Area Ratio requirements.
In addition to streetscape and low impact development, the project features three residential courtyards that act as front yards and main entrances to several dwelling units. The courtyards are designed with a symmetrical layout to provide
overall consistency and continue the design language of the building. Gathering spaces are provided in each courtyard to encourage interaction between neighbors.
